Re: (5Th Run) E2e Bi-Pin socket

There was no heat issue when I tested protected 17670 for continuous 45 minutes until battery depleted but flashlight was hot to touch.
Expect 30 minutes from 2xR123 protected cells with TL-3

#6 Strion kit $33

Thanks for coming up with this fivemega! I love my E2D, but I never use it because of the battery consumption. I've been away from the forums for a while and look what I've missed, Cree LED's and now this. This is just in time for flashlight season though :)

I hope you can come up with a variable power LED module ;)

Re: (5Th Run) E2e Bi-Pin socket

I just got my adapter yesterday and it is a beauty. It is a little work of art. The brass and delrin pieces are machined perfectly. Just what you would expect from fivemega.

I paypal'd fivemega on Friday afternoon and got the adapter on Tuesday, from California to Georgia even.

The adapter works great. I was concerned at first because my year+ old AW 17670 protected cells wouldn't turn the light on. One cell was drained a lot and the other would only cause a momentary dim glow of the bulb. It took me a while to remember to do multiple clicks and I finally got the bulb to light up :) With a full charge the light comes on immediately. Do the newer AW cells work better with the Strion bulb (lasting longer before multiple clicks are required)?

Thanks again fivemega!

Received the kit during my trip away, tried it out tonight and it is top workmanship, beautiful beam and nice and bright, a bit brighter than my EO-E2R lamp.....very happy with it, thanks.

Re: (5Th Run) E2e Bi-Pin socket

I wonder what sort of run time will I get with the Strion bulb running it of a AW RCR123 cell in an E1E?

Re: (5Th Run) E2e Bi-Pin socket

FM, I wonder if this socket is compatible with the SL TL-3.
If it doesn't, then is it easy to modify the design a bit so that it can be used on the TL-3?
