5w Arc When?

I have two ls Arcs and I love them. I've read on this board
that a 5w version is in the works, any idea when this will
come out? I would much rather have an Arc product than the SF.

the 5W arc is still a long way off. First, Peter needs to finish the arc LS4. and that alone takes more than a year to complete. So, expect at least one more year. Prolly 2 more to see LS5 in action.

The LS3 (first flashlight manufactured with the 5w emitter from Lumileds) has already come out. We stopped making them back in January of this year. You can still find used ones occasionally being offered in the BST forum.

Our next 5w design, the LS5 should be ready to go by the fall of next year.

Thank you for you prompt reply, I think I can wait, your current model really takes care of my needs. Its just that
baddest brightest thing....
I am curious though will it have an alternate battery type holder? This in my opinion was a great option on the ls
I've been a mechanical designer for 25 years mostly military hardware ect... I have to complement you on your
machining and quality.
I'm taking a 3 week trip to Alaska this Xmas, mine will be getting the cold weather test!

Well the LS5 will have to have at the very least a 2xCR123 battery holder in order to power the 5 watt monster, but in addition to that Peter said that he has a Li-ion battery pack in the works as well. Other than those I'm not sure that there really could be any other possible choices.
