7 Cell C Maglight: Want to make LED

I have a 7 cell, C size battery, Maglight that I'd like to drop an LED into. I need something that is very bright, that lasts a reasonable amount of time and will be easy to drop in. Please enlighten me as to what might make the best/easiest choice.
