Do you mean the A2 on low (3 5mm LEDs) or high beam?

With the A2 on low beam the KL1 will be much brighter! 3 lumens vs ~16 lumens.

On high beam the A2 will be much brighter. 50+ lumens vs ~16 lumens.

The A2 is completely unlike the KL1, which makes me want to get an L1 (same output as KL1). I really like my A2 but I think an L1 would get more use around the house with the low/high capability.

Hope I helped somewhat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

i think the 3lu is low, atleast to me. when i had mine it *seemed* almost as bright as my arc lsl-p, but without the hotspot, at a range of 7ft.

i just received my KL1/E1e and it's awesome. brighter than i thought it would be

I equate my A2's 3 LEDs with the brightness of my Arc AAA LE... although the A2's is just slighlty brighter.

tkl - I have a KL1/E2e combo that completely blows my A2's 3 LEDs out of the water... but in retrospect, I really like my A2's LED function to aid in preserving some nightvision.

tkl,

I think it is far more likely that SureFire would use the A2 as a base for an Incandescent & Luxeon combination Bezel. I doubt that such a combination will ever be released though. Not that I have any idea at all.

The 3 LEDs of the A2 are about the same brightness as the 3 LEDs in the Opalec Newbeam.

Here is a picture of the A2's LEDs -vs- the Arc LSH:

There's no comparison. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
