Hey guys,
Just bought a Nikon CoolPix L110 camera that takes four AA Li-ion or Alk batteries.
I got a Pila for my 18650 batts to run my flashlights and got to thinking about whether or not it could also handle Lithium Ion or Nimh batteries. Has anybody successfully used the Pila for these type of charging duties? I see Sanyo has
the Nimh on amazon, wasn't sure if Li-ion rechargeable comes in the AA size.
Any input would be appreciated.

Your Nikon will take AA alkaline or AA Lithium (primary) cells such as the Energizer L91, not Li-Ion (rechargeable) cells. Li-Ion AA (14500) have way too much voltage to use as a replacement (3.7V Li-Ion vs. 1.5V alkaline) and will fry your camera.

You can use NiMH in your Nikon, and I would suggest you do. However, you need a NiMH charger for them, and the Pila does Li-Ion only.

Hello NutSAK,
Thanks for the heads up on the Li-ion in the camera, that would have been
so bad. I just bought it today because I droped my Casio about a foot onto
the garage floor while it was on and that was it for that $300 camera (Casio
wants $272 to repair it!).
I found some Sanyo Nimh Eneloop batteries (4) with a plug in charger from them for $20.79 on Amazon, think I'll just get that set and be done with it.
Thanks again,
Jack

Eneloops are great.

If you have a CostCo close, they have a package with more batteries for a little more money than that you could consider. (Used to be just over $20 ($22?) for 8AA + 4AAA and a charger. They've changed the mix & the price has gone up ($28 for 8AA + 2AAA?) now. The Amazon deal sounds good, but you might do slightly better if you will need the extra cells. (Plus the possibility of instant gratification.)

Good heads up LED astray, I'm going up to the regional Costco on the
ninth of April (heading north to Eugene to pick up a two pound package of
bees for my hive) and will check what they have available when I'm there.
