anyone has got hold of any of the announced AA-size NiMHs with 2Ah capacity? I heard they should be arriving soon, and thought they might be out in the USA already????

Experience?

i'd like to add to Wus' question - anyone got a hold of any real 1.5V NiMHs? I'm really tired of 1.2V...

if they made 2AH 1.5V NiMHs, I'd be ecstatic

I don't think that is possible since the law of chemistry for the NiMH cell "nominal" voltage is 1.2 V, no one can make it 1.5 V as long it is NiMH.

Normally a fresh full charged Nimh cell sometimes can exceed 1.5 V upto 1.8 V but it is in open circuit (the battery is not connected and measured with voltmeter), again as I said "nominal" is the normal working cell voltage is 1.2 V once it connected to load.

Fyi, most alkaline cell, even still at 80 to 90 % of it's capasity, the voltage will drop to below 1.3 Volt.
