Reading through the poll question about this very subject I read where it had been done, adding serrations to a straight edge knife. I like my HEST, but I miss having a serrated edge. A couple inches or so would be great. I figure it will null the warranty so looking at options. Figure if done right, won't need the warranty anyway, as I've beat the crud out of this knife and it's dealt with it all so far.

it won't effect the heat-treat. Veff knows what he's doing.
as long as you don't raise the blade's temp past the temp of the heat-treat it won't affect it. same as a re-grind. like i said Veff knows what he's doing.

Veff knows his stuff, and that Hinderer is a high end knife, you wouldnt just half *** that. the serrations are good to go.
