Reading through the poll question about this very subject I read where it had been done, adding serrations to a straight edge knife. I like my HEST, but I miss having a serrated edge. A couple inches or so would be great. I figure it will null the warranty so looking at options. Figure if done right, won't need the warranty anyway, as I've beat the crud out of this knife and it's dealt with it all so far.

+1 on the Tom Veff Serrations!

Sent a message last night. So willl see. I like how those look too.

Well, got mixed emotions on it now. According to ESEE, it shouldn't be done once the heat treating is finished, ie after its made. Got a em from T. Veff, but have not responded yet.

it won't effect the heat-treat. Veff knows what he's doing.

as long as you don't raise the blade's temp past the temp of the heat-treat it won't affect it. same as a re-grind. like i said Veff knows what he's doing. :) it's a non-issue. ;)

10-4 then ill give him a call Monday, along with sending him the requested pics. Appreciate the info.

Had a good talk with Tom. Nice dude, sounded like he knew his stuff. I'll be shipping it to him mon. Bit more than I expected but not much. So will see how it goes.

Considered what he said some more. As I chop with this, and they are not designed for that so decided against it. Just gonna buy a serrated knife to carry under the 2 = 1 rule.
