Just picked up a black over electroless nickel alpha mil-leo version #482. I don't even have to turn it on to admire it. Kinda like a parked mclaren.

True, but the light won't throw 6 different error codes when you actually go to use it lol. :laughing:

Another Alpha #633. Nanjg 105C modes were distributed very well 150-860-2740 mA, but I was missing the weaker one, so I put H17Fx and received moonlight-90-900-3100 mA.

I am wondering 2 questions, why is there so much empty space between the diode and the driver, and where is the Gamma model? Alpha is, beta is, delta is, and gamma is missing, or is name reserved for something very interesting for future like LEP?

@archer6817j replied:

Regarding the questions: We have nearly 1/2" of solid aluminum behind the LED to get the heat out. The most thermal mass of any light that I'm aware of. The length of the tube has two functions. 1) it makes it physically possible to solder the wires onto the driver and 2) to provide the driver with it's own thermal mass that is somewhat isolated from the heat source of the LED. That combination of engineering factors, along with our exclusive use of a graphite thermal interface, allows us to maintain maximum power for as long as possible.

Correct, the Gamma is actually reserved for a long-throw version of the Alpha that has been on the books for years, but has never materialized :)
