I assume Surefire (still) chemkotes all their lights, inside the flashlight body and the threaded areas) . Is the treated area always a brassy yellow color, or is it sometimes 'white' (as in shiny aluminum) in color?
This has come up in a few other threads in the past year. Apparently they have changed their chemcoating process to a similar but more environmentally benign process, which appears 'clear' instead of 'brassy'.

Thank you for the info. I'll try to find the other threads. (I got one new LED directly from Surefire that's 'brassy', and the same model new directly from them except in incandescent that looked to be in the white. So I was a bit confused.) Thank you again to resolve my confusion.
