How does Amazon.com know what car I drive? WTF!

I followed a link for replacement wiper blades from amazon and saw a small textbox to make sure if the wipers fit my car, I click on the box and behold the exact year, make and model of the car I drive. How did they do that, if I have not told them what car I drive????

Maybe it was just a fluke but you try it and tell me if the car shown on your textbox is the car you drive.

I'm amazed at how these guys datamine the information.

Nope. Year, make, model were all completely selectable. Thereafter if I go to choose another vehicle, it remembers what I entered. They (like google) remember what you bought and search for and use that to serve up more targeted ads. That's just good business practices. It's like your insurance agent keeping your family names on their rolodex/file so they can sound like they remember and care about your family.
