As some of you know, I have been talking about a new 123rechargable battery to release rather than the past one. In this post I need to ask some questions. It will be hard for me to answer any questions until a little bit later.

I am in need of specs on how many amps various single 123 lights Draw.

ARC4
ARCLS
SureFire E1e Incan
SureFire single 123 Led lights
SureFire L4 on E1e body.
Longbow
Firefly

Any Single 123 lights you can think of. Can anyone help me with numbers.

Thanks Size15.

Any numbers are helpful, this could affect what happens next.

Also, has anyone run the incan on an E1e on 4.2 volts, I am sure it flashed but wondering if anyone has tired this.

I don't have all of them but some of them are on my site listed with voltage and amperage while on.

Hi Jon,

*Somebody* gave me an R123 in Las Vegas. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I also recently bought an E1e from SF. I'm game! Should I charge the cell first?

Larry

Charged the cell, loaded the new E1e, dissapointingly dim flash /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif , but that was it. What friggin' bulb # I gotta chase down....

oops. Ok, these are not good for e1e incans. The ones in the modded charger charge up to 4.2 volts.

I believe Peter said the maximum a Arc4+ should draw is 1.25A. A good one would be lower, and anything above that would be a second. So there are probably lots of seconds out there that draw over 1.25A.

wouldn't the higher voltage of the cell mean that the arc4 would need to draw less current?

Yes, Rothrandir, the 1.25A are for 3V, so for 3.6V it should be slightly more than 1A.
But as the cells are discharged down to 3V, youre again at 1.25A .-)
For the incandescents: Be shure the cell can handle the inrush current. I have a 5.5Ah Li-Ion cell were it is specifically stated that it must not be used with incandescent bulbs of more than 0.85A.

Hello Jon,

I have some rough notes taken while I was testing the rechargeable 123 cells.

ARC LSH-P 400 mA
SureFire L4 600 mA
BabyPin 1200 mA
HyperLux V 1200 mA

Tom

Edit: I should mention that the L4 was run on one cell, and the HyperLux V was run with two cells.

Re: Amperage Question for Various single 123 light

Jon,

The current drawn by the Arc4+ is quite variable from one specific light to another. For five different lights I had at one time, I measured the following on Level 1 with fresh SF123s: 1.58, 2.57, 1.73, 1.64, and 1.09 amps.
