I simply suggest this, you and merri auction off your own personal AAA's(or at least one of them, as i assume you may have more than 1) possibly with a signature on them or certificate.

I have faith that the CPF community would pay big money for that(those)! especially if the proceeds go to help you out in this hard time.

I would gladly donate my Arc AAA white(to be signed/marked by Peter) to be auctioned off for this benefit but that would leave me without one for myself /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif ........ okay now i feel selfish /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

anyways, just a thought

EDIT: It's been brought to my attention that this may not be the best time to suggest all of this in light of the seisure or properties and such. Maybe it could still be done in a better way or at a later time

Maybe a raffle instead of an auction, because then it's not just on *one* person. The collective pockets of CPF could help, and I'm sure it would generate a lot more $$! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif You can count me in!

There's another thread about this, with a post from Sasha making me think there's reasons not to do this. I think it's best to wait from further word from her or from Peter before undertaking such a plan.

Following a few other people's leads, I left my Arc AA lit overnight as a tribute last night. (OK, I had a NiMH cell in it). It really lit up the whole room when bounced off the ceiling with the tail stand, and was still going this morning, though it got pretty dim by noon or so. Maybe I will do it again tonight.

Yes, Merri and I do personally own several Arc flashlights. I would really like to keep them but if it takes longer than I hoped to get a job, we may need to sell them.

But I would really like to keep them.

Peter

if nothing else, i'm sure you could sell them off and buy them back later (for the same price of course).

I think it would be a crying shame if Peter didn't have at least one of each of the lights he produced. Question for Peter: do you have at least on of each? (just curious)

He said , in another thread, that he has.

I don't think anything further should be said because of the situation.

He should be allowed to keep something of his own work and I'd hate to see the situation exacerbated by us.

Nuff.
