It seems that the hottest topics these days is about how u edc ur stuff, and especially manpurses.

to keep the ball rolling, i came across this site which seems to make pretty good and interesting stuff. http://www.roadwired.com. They look VERY suitable as a good edc manpurse

their stuff might attract less stares coz they look less "military" and would lessen the gadgetitis look

what do u guys think? anybody used these before?

Look at what this guy has to offer in terms of pouches and bags:
http://www.billingham.co.uk
I used to sell his bags here in the US and they were top of the line choice for photographers. But since we are not here after big bags but small EDC stuff I would suggest his pouches. His stuff is strong, durable, water resistant, padded and can be configured in many different ways. It's a bit on the expensive side but it doesn't have this militia look.

Look here: pockets and pouches

I still use his delta pocket for my EDC when out. But generally browse around his site and see stuff they have. I gave up importing his bags when duties increased on leather products. But you can still get them thru US dealers.

Your EDC can be solved by Maxpedition products. When I'm in the woods I don't care if I look like John Rambo. When I'm working on the ambulance I don't care either. But in the office or casually I don't really want to go for that look. That's why I still use delta pocket which reminds a lot of people of tobaco pouch. Little camera bags like you mentioned from Road Wired also will do the job. I just want to avoid a) the military look b) tourist look c) freak look and d) expensive camera in the bag look. I also like LowePro and Domke pouches and pockets. Now that should tell you that I also like photgraphy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, that BRIGHT RED wouldn't do anything to attract attention, would it?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously, not being one for political correctness, if people are staring at me because something I'm wearing looks "too military" (or whatever their problem is), I generally just stare back. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Those bags do look really nice though...I bet I could fit my PRC-68 in one of those... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Podzilla (large size "the pod" in black and one in olive drab green.

dr chow - what do you think of it - it looks nice, but perhaps a bit too 'cube' or 'pod' like, rather than something flatter, which I find important in carrying.

There are two versions of the-pod...the small one being "the-pod" and the larger one being "podizlla".

The Podzilla is very well padded, in addition it contains a removable "hammock" extra padding for your camera equip. IMO, you can place your camera in there without that "hammock" extra padding.

There is one main compartment and three outer compartments with well padding. Mesh pockets inside each of those comaprtments to handle all your digital electronics, EDC tactical load out needs. Offcourse my favorite is the battery retention loops in the front compartment.

The Podzilla has a very nice shoulder strap for great over the shoulder wear as well as belt loops to attch on to a standard 2 1/4" tactical/duty belt.

The Podzilla is about the same size as a Maxpedition Thermamite and slightly bigger than a Maxpedition M4 waistpack but has better padding and pockets.

For $70....its pricey but definately worth every penny of it and if you get one, you will not regret how cool this thing is. It's real cute too, the women ask about it:)

*THE-POD, smaller version of PODZILLA is alittle smaller than the M4 waistpack*

Just got one of these, and I love it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif.

http://countycomm.com/Fatboy.htm

It's only slightly bigger than my old leather purse, and it has lots of pockets, both inside, outside, and on the straps.

A flashaholics dream. My EDC count just doubled; I've got plenty of room for my GPS, digital camera, pocket PC, cell phone, wallet, checkbook, several knives (including a wine opener knife), and extra batteries. And I've got just enough room left to hold my 9mm Glock for those nights out on the town or, in my case, deep in the back woods where you might stumble across a wacky tobacky farm.

Check out the site listed above. They have quality bags in all shapes and sizes.

JimH, Thanks but I think most of us here have a fatboy and look for some good alternatives too:) My Podzilla compliments my theramite and fatboy.

Boy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohgeez.gif, I didn't realize I was so far behind the times when it came to ways to carry more lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Not only lights, guns (i.e. sigsauer p229 and p226), taser x26 and the rest of the goodies to compliment it:) Love the x26 taser as it runs on CR123 Lithiums too!

WoohOooo...

Yeh, both my Glock 19 and my HD 357 sig fit very nicely, but only one at a time. The 357 magnum is just too heavy to carry around.

I haven't yet. I'm working on it. It's high on my priority list. I figure there's got to be a way. I just figure it's nice to have a place to carry in the hopes that I can make it legal.

In the meantime I'll continue to go to the range twice a month, and carry unconcealed when I'm in the back country.

unconcealed = OpenCarry. I got my permit because of my previous employment. I'd suggest you goto a small town chief and offer him some campaign incentive or tell him you want to be a reserve deputy....reading your a software engineer....offer him some services:) *Hint* Hollister or Los Banos.
