I hope to learn a lot from everyone hear. I've recently become interested in making my own flashlights (the smaller mini mag sized tactical lights and don't know anything except I want to use the brightest single leds on the market that are geared for the smaller AA or AAA sized flashlights. Many times I'm hoping to make them with the BRIGHTEST RED LED's. It appears this is the premier site to listen and learn from some mentors. Thanks for having me here.

The brightest single LED in white that would also be good for a light that small is Cree's XP-E R2 bin. I don't know about the reds. Sorry.

Ready for the ice thats coming?

Sorry bud...had a lot of trouble getting back on here. No I wasn't ready for the ice...were you? Now I'm not ready for the warm up or the annual skunk war! Every spring they try to move in under the house. They've started early this year! Frustrating!

I've got a flashlight now with a CREE XR-E Q-5 WC 230 lumen but am trying to change out the LED to a 190 lumen Red-Orange Lambertian Luxeon III Star. Hopefully it works out. I have a bunch of questions under the flashlights electronics forum. We'll see.

Take care and thinks for the reply neighbor.:)
