I know the snows are out of stock.

I heard that the new 5MM Cree are just as bright as the Nichia GS with better tint and cleaner beam pattern.

I do not know how true it is. But if it is, any chance of seeing it from the factory?

5mm?? CREE??? 2 significant words in my LED journey learned at different times spaced by a few years.

To see these 2 terms together is of great interest!!! :broke:another excuse to buy another ARC??????

I'd be interested in a 5mm Cree ARC-AAA too, it could make for a nice Premium model.

Peter mentioned the possibility of reviving a sold out model in this post, I think if AAA stock is low that it'd be a great chance to introduce a brighter modern LED before another company decides to do it first.

Have you had the chance to test this LED yet Peter? If the 5mm Cree doesn't make it into production or even a small limited run like the snows, we might just have to mod 'em ourselves

I tested the 5mm cree a year or 2 ago and I was not impressed. Compared to the Nichia they were Dim, poor lumen maintenance, etc. Are they now better? If so, I can get some samples from my rep.

There is a new batch that is supposed to be as bright as the GS

I am not sure if these are the ones you tested

Here are the spec sheet for the 33,000 mcd one

Here is a recent discussion on the older version (C503B) LED compared to the nichia
