I know 2C MAg works but it's a bit large.

I've also read report about Coleman 2AA aluminum will house 3@123 with some minor work to enlarge the inside to fit 123 Li. How about whether the reflector melting poing?

Is there any other light which can be modded to take 3@123 and without overheating when turned on continuesly?

I intend to use it for 5 cell bulb or LS.

Very nice color, just the one i am looking for. I have 4 black ones, it's time for a change.

What's the bulb you use?

I guess i have to buy a 2C if there is no other one available. Thanks for the reply.

Happy modding.

Garrity Stainless 2AA. It houses 3x123's very nicely. Just take out the 2xAA battery holder. Best used with a T1 1/2 size bulb though. Putting an LS in it is tricky because of plastic in the head but that is then surrounded with stainless. Hard to describe but by cutting away plastic and using the stainless for a heatsink, and judicious use of glue you can get there using an LS. They're cheap, look nice, and have a decent tail switch with a lockout to prevent inadvertent switching on. The downside is that the 123 fit can be tight. Duracells fit well in one of my Garrity's, but the Toshibas and Panasonics I've tried are too fat for it. My other Garrity will take all three. Depending on how hot your application is you'll want to stay below 10 watts or so and you may end up putting a glass lens in but mine hasn't needed it yet. The glass will help with dissipating heat though. Mine is going to get a 5WLS eventually with two lithium ion A size batteries for about 1 - 1 1/2 hrs of runtime.
