This is an Radio Shack 5D light my father bought new some time around 1968. It's only been out of the package (shown in photo) once, to test it, and it's like new. Do folks collect lower-end lights like this now?

aaah, the wonderful radio shack 5 cell. They used to have a coupon on their flyer for a free one. Mine have all bit the dust. fun though.

Thinking back, I believe the flyer coupon was the start of my addiction! <G> At one point, I had a 'battery club' card at 5 different locations to keep one of these monster's fed!

My parents have one of those. I put a new krypton bulb in it for them. The old one was a crummy standard vacuum bulb! A new set of alkaline batteries, and....good as new. When I was a teen ager, (1980's)I got the new version of that light with a coupon Radio Shack put out, but for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere.

And oh yeah, to actually answer your question, yes. I feel that older lights that are out of production do have some collector value (at least to me). In a sense, it's part of flashlight history. Man, I'm a nerd!
