Are there any mods for the Novatac 120?

Better runtime?
More output?
Better throw?

Any of these?

haha i like the new title.
i know there are a few out there. i cant remember who posted it but someone talked about a mod they did. if this light wasnt so precious to me i would absolutely mod it. im just not ballsy enough to do it yet :poke:

This is the same as the other thread. There's no easy drop in. If you know how to solder you can put in a new U2 bin P4.

Hello DM51? Where are you?

It's pretty much the same question and people already said a new LED is the way to go.

Well, I'm not talking of drop ins now. Obviously there are non.

I was thinking of any kind of mods. Extensions to be able to use CR123 cells, another bezel like the RA TWISTY etc. Anything that changes the light.

I don't know anything about spare parts, mods etc. That's why I ask.

Ok well here's the quick rundown.

You can't use more CR123 cells. You can use 18650, 17670s if you can find HDS 18650 tubes or buy the HDS 2x123 tube from lighthound.

It's about 2 hours runtime on level 1 on 17670.

You can get Ti or SS rings for the bezel. There's nothing like the Ra Twisty for it.

You can get a UCL from flashlightlens to replace the plastic one. Or go Sapphire.

You can upgrade the LED to the latest U2 bin for about a 10-20% increase which is not visually noticeable.

You can send it to milky to change the reflector to an optic that throws better.

Again like the replies in the other thread said there's no real way to increase brightness or runtime. If you want to change the beam it's gonna be tough. The last reply in the other thread sums it up about the beam pretty much.

Also there's a bunch of threads on Novatac lights, a quick search pulled it up. I just did it now. This light doesn't lend much to extreme modding. But putting in Glow rings and new bezels and lens are well documented and (relatively) easy to do.

If you really want to change it up you can put a P7 in it.

Thanks :twothumbs

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Correct if I am wrong, but I understood you CAN NOT use 18650's due to the higher voltage, ONLY 17650's.
And NO more than 1 123 at a time.
For some reason I have it in my head the 4.6V is the MAX!!

CPF user whc does Novatac upgrades. Got mine modded with a USW0H LED... according to whc the modded Novatac gets 9210 Lux over the stock 6270 Lux.
