Hello everyone,

I have an arc6 coming and a trit from bart. I would like a nice clean installation? I know norland 61 uses UV rays to cure. I do not have norland or a UV light. ANybody?

Thanks!

Kerry

You can always go for Devcon 2-ton clear epoxy, if you want to try yourself...

I was looking at that, the words "water resistant" kind of turned me off. Will it fall apart slowly if its getting wet over and over. I need something perminent, water proof.

I've used superglue to install tritium markers before. It doesn't give the perfectly smooth, clear finish that Norland does, but the benefit is you can soak the part with the marker installed in acetone for an hour to completely dissolve the superglue and remove the marker without any damage to the marker or the part.

I highly doubt it, I have used Devcon for trit installations before with no problems. Once it hardens , water won't do a thing to it ( unless its boiling ). Are you going diving with this item? :green:

Please post in the correct section. The B/S/T section is for buying/selling/trading, not for modification discussions. I'm moving this to H&M.

No, I'm not going diving.... I just don't want my trit to fall out if wet. I plan on keeping the light for a while and I'm sure it will get wet several times.

I can do this for you. You may view the mods in my archive to see some examples I have done. PM me or email me if interested.

The sun works quite well. That is what I did, just left the part out in the sun for 30 min (was summer here).

Cheers,
Nova

LOL! We won't see the sun for a while here in grand rapids Michigan.

Now, it was quite sunny here in Kalamazoo Michigan today. Tomorrow is shaping up to be even more sunny. It would be a perfect day to cure the Norland 61.

I've got a little Noreland 61 left from a GB via Rocket Tomato, and if you come down here, I'll let you use some of it on your Arc6. Free, ther than your gas money to drive down here.
