Anyone know of a source for \'AA\' tabbed NiMHs?

I'm gonna try my luck with ab's MR16-in-a-MagLite mod and want to get my mitts on some decent (read: good quality, suitably high capacity) tabbed NiMH 'AA' batteries to power it. I'll need 12 of 'em and $ is tight, so I'm in need of the best bang for the buck.

All of my sources want $2+ a pop for them, and All Electronics' best price for tabbed 1800mAH 'AA' in NiMH was $1.75 per. But, before I shell out $ I want to exhaust all other possibilities. So I turn to the CPF crew...

Anyone know of a good source for good batteries of the required size/type, with solder tabs, that I can check into?

Didn't read your post carefully enough - I paid $2.25 per for mine at TD.

Check with www.batterystation.com - they *might* have something on special. If not, you might try calling and asking if they can do better.

[EDITED] I've ordered twice from www.batterystation.com recently and they've been pretty good. Standard shipping is UPS ground (I think) - and takes about a week to get to Ohio.

[2nd EDIT] They've also got any size shrink wrap you want for packing your cells - and even color choices.

Try <http://www.bydusa.com/>

They have single AAs with tabs at $1.75, but have 20 for $27.

Don't you really want ten of them, that is 12 volts total, not closer to 15?

They also have other options you might consider, like 10 sub C cells (3000 mAh) for $29...

Cheers.
