Yes, I have seen them. They are Arc Mania's inventions. Their brightness level is quite good considering they are based on 3mm Nichia's. These modules use "inverted cone" LED's, which is a good mimic of LS-SE beam pattern---ie, most of the light goes sideways to the reflector. You can get a decent throw with a MiniMag reflector. They are brighter than Arc AAA's, and the throw is MUCH better. But it's no where near a Luxeon-based light in total brightness and beam color. Battery draw is close to 200mA if I remembered correctly. The LED is significantly over-driven, but Arc Mania creatively added an aluminum slug close to the LED leads so the heat gets conducted away efficiently and you won't burn out the LED in a hurry. They are quite good for general purpose lights---fairly cheap, too.

I had a couple. The light output is much less than the stock Mini-mag lamp, typically LED "blue white", but it does focus more smoothly than the stock lamp until you get the inevitable dark hole in the beam center. Except for the focusing feature (very nice), and long battery life, you can get as much or more light out of a lot of smaller 1 LED lights like the ARC AAA or Infinity Ultra.

I have one of these, from when it was still a prototype product. A MagmaLED that you can get today should be brighter, but by how much I don't know.

Mine was one that fit in also fit in a MM AAA. I was going to sell it, but it makes a great little light in the candle mode!! I don't know if the newer model will fit in a MM AAA or not? Maybe I'll order one to see...unless someone has one and wants to report on it?

For those who have the first model, for some it was possible to file down the outside edge to get it to fit in a MM AAA, however - one can also risk damaging the unit as well if you file too much off.

I'm keeping mine!

Sigman...the newer MagmaLED's will not fit in a Mag AAA. The circuit board on the new model is covered with a metal disc and cannot be filed down to fit in the Mag AAA. I'm glad I ordered one of the older models when I did...I really like my Mag AAA with the MagmaLED. With the AAA size "flashlight friend" from NiteIze, it makes a very handy, long running utility light, and it's one of my most used LED flashlights. I have one of the newer models as well, and the pins became loose after just a week of normal use, and now it flickers badly. Half the time it will only light up about 25% of the way! I've had no problems with the earlier version, however.
