Anyone own a Streamlight ProPolymer 2AA?

If so, what do you like or dislike about it? How bright is it? What's the beam quality like? And how does it compare against a 2AA Mini Mag with either the standard lamp or the Brinkmann lamp (if you have one)?

Greetings,
Velcro

I have one. beam intensity is much better than 2 Mini Mag 2aa (standard lamp). Streamlight ProPoly 2aa's light is white. Not like the mini mag (yellow).
its very handy and not much more in diameter than the mag. In cold weather your hands get not frozen because of the proPoly face of it.
The proPoly 2aa has within the 2aa league one of the best light output and quality but
alike the miniMag, the ProPoly 2aa also has not a certain use. it cant replace a big 2 or 3 D flashlight. I use my ProPoly 2aa around the house and the garden (waterproof). my 2 next flashlights will be a propoly 4aa and the SF E2. I think with the propoly 4aa you can replace a 2-3 D maglite and about the E2 we have not to talk.

ghost.

It's the only ProPolymer I own (It's my son's) and have tried. It's a very narrow beam. But excellent fit and finish. The momentary tailcap switch can be a little hard to push for more than a few seconds.

It's bright for a 2AA light.

I have three, all are brighter than a 2aa mag. I would say twice as bright as a brinkman bulb version. The beams vary wildly on mine, two are very narrow the third is perfect.there are some rings in all three. Great little light for the money. love the instant on switch. Nice white color beam. Go for it!!

Does anyone know the lumen rating of the propoly 2aa / 4aa and the maglite 2aa ?

@Velcro: Do you know where i get one of these Brinkmann bulbs for my Mag-lites in Europe or Germany ?

I don't know about their lumen rating, but the ProPoly 2AA is stated to have 3,500 CP, the ProPoly 4AA 6,000 CP and the Mini Mag 2AA 2,200 CP (if that is of any help).

I'm looking for an European source for Brinkmann bulbs too. I haven't found any yet, but I will let you know when I do.

to all propoly 2aa owners : have i to change the whole reflector with the bulb or is it possible to change the bulb separately ? How can i disjoin the bulb from the reflector? I found no way to do this. On the net there are bulbs and reflectors sold separate.

I've never had to do it, but if if remember right (don't count on it) the manual said that the bulb is removed from the reflector asyembly. I would guess it takes a good tug to do it. Not sure of the details. Let me know how it works out for you.

on the product detail page @ streamlight.com they say that you have only change the bulb not the whole reflector, there is also a picture of a dissassembled reflector/bulb unit. my 2aa bulb runs well, streamlight send me a spare reflector unit inclusive of the bulb. And i wondered how the bulb may be dissassambled because the spare reflector from streamlight has much better beam then the original. maybe i got a monday-output reflector ( german saying "montagsauto" if a brand new car from factory has faults).

It appears that several of the Streamlight and Pelican lights are made by the same manufacturer, but I am not sure.

I have the Poly Pro 2AA, and it blows a Maglight out of the water.
I like the tail switch for firearms training.

I liked the 2AA so well, as soon as I found out about the 4AA version, I bought one of those too!
The 4AA version is awesome as well.

The Propoly bulb replaces easily. Pull the reflector off of the assembly.

I just found out after I blew the lamp trying Lithium AA's instead of Alkalines. The stock bulb won't take lithiums, but Streamlight didn't say so in their documentation!

Bulb goes in easily, but you have have to diddle a lot to adjust the hot spot.
