Anyone seen the Fireworm CR2?

The name alone made me laugh & cringe at the same time, but it's kinda cute & it's ti with a bunch of nice slots for trits.

64 bucks at hkequipment.net, but have never heard of the brand;

They would indeed be interested as hosts, so who buys a few dozen of them, mods them to be up to date, installs trits and resells them?

Was exactly my thoughts. They could really have some potential with the right driver installed & I've been wanting a tiny little rocket with a smo reflector & an R2. Low of around 2-3 lumens, med of about 5o? & a high of around 180 would be great for my needs. Skip the strobe.

Have no idea what kind of ti alloy that is & the descriptions are typically pretty comic at times.

Thats cool. I like the image in the tail. Do you think its etched and then heat treated?
I almost want it but the strobe is really odd and what are the dimensions?
Can you still get CR2 batteries cheaply? Or RCR CR2s?

Well because it appears to be rather difficult to get more detailed information I just ordered one of these CR2 lights so I will see with my own eyes ...

I have never heard of Fireworm either but there Ti lights do look nice. They have that 18650 light and also what looks like a ZL H30 but Ti. I did a search and found this. The 18650 light is P60 compatible, I might have to get one.

A couple of days ago I received a new Fireworm F01 and I report my initial impressions.

The light is small and well finished with smooth threads (titanium on brass like Fenix PD10Ti) and a rather shallow surface knurling that requires dry hands for a good operation. The LED is centered in a smooth but not mirror finished reflector.

The UI is like a twisty Fenix with a memory of the last level used that kicks in after 5 seconds. The default sequence is low (30 lumens) - high (180 lumens) - strobe. IMO the given figures are LED lumens so the actual output is lower and the low level is less bright than what one would expect.

The beam is rather clean and the tint is a pleasant white/yellow similar to the latest Lumapower lights. A tint similar to sunlight.

All considered I am happy I got one and as small titanium lights go its price is in line with the Quarks (except the CR2....).

I put the F01 on my desk in candle mode at high level, fed by an RCR2 3.0V li-ion cell and measured the temperature of the head with an IR thermometer:

- T 0min = 25°C
- T 1min = 27°C
- T 2min = 28°C
- T 3min = 29°C
- T 5min = 29°C
- T 10min= 31°C
- T 15min= 33°C

The light is never more than warm to the touch.

There's two rather large slots in the back of the light that can easily accommodate trits. The grooves in the head are not very deep and I would be afraid to dislodge the vial while using the switch.

Has anyone done any mods on these? I'm interested in getting one to have the engine/emitter changed out and was curious how mod-friendly they were, or weren't.
