More curiousity than anything else here.

I'm using one as the regulator component in a bench power supply unit I'm building as a project at college (replacing the whole transisitor/resisitor tangle of the original linear regulator). Granted, I already had a circuit diagram to work from which I just altered to my specification by adding a higher power driver stage. Hence I don't really know that much about the IC. Just wondering if they're of any use to us for flashlight voltage regulator circuits?

Hi there,

If you can point me to a data sheet i'll take a look.

Take care,

Hello again,

Looks like it would make a low parts count current regulator
for a Luxeon 1 to 5 watter, but there would be about
a 2 volt dropout to consider. This would mean in order
to drive a 3.5v Luxeon you would need at least 5.5v
input (or battery).
Would be great for six volt applications driving
a 1 watt luxeon if efficiency didnt matter that much
(58 percent).

Take care,
Al
