I'm looking for input from anyone who has mounted this on a rifle.

Cost is not a big concern, I'm willing to spend up to $400 on a weapon mounted light. I'm just looking for something with good throw, and to illuminate my target.

I will be mounting this on an M4 rifle. My primary uses are shooting coyote's/varmint at 75-100 yards. I'm not looking to use this light indoors as I have other weapons that are better suited for indoor home defense situations.

Thanks for any input you can give.

The new Malkoff Hound Dog has shown to be brighter than that one and has higher lux readings with a much simpler user interface, no reliability issues of tail cap switches although you probably will use a tape switch, it will take a tape switch that fits standard SureFire 6P type host threads. Will mount in standard 1" tube mount. order one from MalkoffDevices dot com. Course they are sold out right now but you can be put on the notification list and order one when they come in. Well worth the wait.

I would look at the Jetbeam M1X or the M2S. I have both and like both really well. But, I like the UI for the M1X better and the fact that it will run on high until the batteries are toast is a good thing for hunting.

I love the throw and beam of G5, the UI is simple as well for a weapon light. I would say perfect for your uses.

I can't really see these lights as weapon-mountable. Kinda big.
