I am in college and I got a summer job in the entemology department at the extension office in Lonoke, AR. Our job is to test pesticides for chemical companies in our field test plots all over the state. We pull sample plants and count the number of spider mites and thrips and other bugs with a microscope. The other day our bulb went out in our microscope. My boss got some lamp with a 60 watt bulb in it to put beside the microscope to light the petri dishes. Well the girl that was the one using the microscope was complaining about the bulb being too hot. So I told her to hold on just a minute and I would go get a flashlight out of my truck and my boss laughed and told me that a flashlight wouldn't be bright enough or something like that. I laughed back at him and told him to watch. I went and got my Apex and my 13v rattlesnake with a LF 700 lumen bulb out of the truck (just to see the suprised look on his face). I pulled it out and shined it on the petri dishes and he said D@MN that thing is bright! Then I told him i wasnt planning to use it for real then I pulled out my Apex and fixed it so it it would shine on the petri dishes. The girl counting the bugs said it was so much better than the lamp and she said that she liked the color of the LED's even better than the original lamp. And the good part about all this is that they bought me a whole bunch of packs of lithium AA's to run in it! We've order the bulb for the microscope which is they claim they cost $150 a piece for.

I also think I should tell you that my nickname at work is flashlight. (That might be good thread "Flashlight Nicknames")
