Is there any way to use a Arc 2AA TSP with other non-Arc heads (e.g. KL1, McLux, Surefire E-series incandescent, etc..) ??

Anyone tried this before? Do you need an adapter?

Using 2AA, the batteries stick out too far for the threads to engage. You will need some sort of body adapter or else underdrive the lamp with 1AA and a spacer.

What a coincidence. Hours before you wrote your post I felt an uncanny urge to screw my KL1 onto my brand new Arc 2AA TSP.

It looks like a no-go. The KL1 only engages about half of the TSP's threads (let alone the o ring) before it bottoms out. The whole thing looks like hell IMO so I never got as far as inserting batteries to even see if it worked.

The E2 series incan. heads (with stock lamps) require more voltage than 2 AA's can provide.

The Arc and KL1 heads work beautifully, however on the USB.

I would assume the E1 series would run on the voltage of 2 AA's. A single cr123 battery is 3 volts, and a AA battery is 1.5 volts.

Thanks for the replies. The Arc 2AA is a well made product, and at $15 is a great price. USB + tailswitch (Z52) is maybe 4 times more expensive - and doesnt have clickie action.

Maybe, there is a market for someone to develop an adapter for the Arc 2AA to accept E-series heads ??

Oh well, I thought it may cheap and easy way to add a 2AA with clickie to the Surefire KL1.
