Not on the flashlight. The package is marked as a second and we track the serial numbers.

Peter, I wish you'd mark the seconds on the light. Sooner or later there will be a secondary market in used Arc4's and as things are, nobody will be able to tell which ones are the seconds. That will impact the value of the firsts.

In another thread, it was said the serial number of a particular model could be verified by calling Arc to know if it's a first or second. This is good for both the buyer and the seller.

I think that it would be a good policy to put a serial number tracker on the ARC website so one can identify quickly what is the provenance of the light. Since there are so many models and variations on the model, it would be important to know what is the quality of the light without question. If people knew that this serial number site was available, they would not try to misrepresent the quality of the light - even if it was unintentional.

FWIW, this latest batch of seconds seems to be clearly labeled as such on the QC stickers.
As long as the original packaging is included in re-sales, misrepresentation shouldn't be an issue.

MY--great idea. I wonder how big a deal it would be for Arc to set it up?
GJW-- there are already many transactions/listings on CPF involving Arc 4's for sale, and they move quickly. If one could know the providence of the light by a serial # listing right away, one could make a decision in a timely enough
way to snag the light w/ no worries.
