I always recomend the Arc AAA to anyone that asks me about it. The plant I work at has around 3,000 employees. I urge everyone to spread the Arc word! It is the best EDC light made bar none.:twothumbs

I have one on my keychain, too. It dates back seven years. But, best EDC ever? Maybe once, but time has moved on and the Arc AAA hasn't. As small and tough as it is, when the Fenix E0 came it it was obvious the competition had caught up. And we've come miles since then. The newer lights are more efficient, brighter, the beams are nicer, and they don't require you to crush batteries and keep threads clean. I can't see a logical way to dispute this.

I still like my Arcs (AAA, AA, LS), but sadly they are now history. Maybe a new design will emerge. I hope so, and I'll jump on it if it once again sets the standard.

Gee Whiz Flying Turtle! Dosn't 7 years of EDC use teach you something? I don't know of any light lasting that long. I betcha a lot of lights would bite the dust way before 7 years of use! Please don't look at this as a personal attack because its not.
I really have a lot of respect for your opinions!

No offense taken at all ragweed. Perhaps I'm not giving enough credit to Arc for it's toughness. There's no doubt in my mind it can stand more abuse than most. My Arc has been in my pocket or on the keychain all that time, but actual hours of use is probably pretty low. It was there mostly for backup. It's hard for me to accurately judge any light's absolute reliability since I've accumulated so many and none get a great deal of use.

Sorry if I came across a bit harsh earlier, brother light seeker.

I do have a Fenix E01 that does have twice the runtime on the AAA cell. It is slightly bulkier but, really not bad for EDC. It would be nice if Arc could make theirs with the same runtime also. The brightness of both is about equal however, the Arc has a much larger spill beam which I find very handy.

Interesting - I find my Arc-AAA to definitely have a brighter beam than the E01. Not measured, but perceived, so can be incorrect too.

But yes, the Arc-AAA has the best built body, and extraordinary profile and size for a EDC small light. No wonder they are so popular.
