I know the ARC AAA LE was a one-time limited run flashlight that's not being made, and may not be made again any time soon.

I know the standard ARC AAA is like an LE but with a less bright LED and different (not as hard, but i'm not 100% certain on this one) metal. However, the standard has gone through several revisions.

I'm currently considering getting an Arc AAA, and have found a place that has the LEs available.

I like the brighter LED and "natural" color metal of the LE, but I'm concerned that while it was "better" intially, the standard arc AAA is now supiorior in some ways because of the revisions it's gone through.

What ways, if any, would these be? I'm totally uncertain on which one to go with.

Here's the deal tibim -

The LE is NOT brighter, but has a slightly different tint. The LE is NOT harder, as both the LE and the standard are now type III HA.

The two differences are in the slight tint variation of the LED and in the color of the exterior (natural vs. black). The latest version of the standard light has Chemcoat throughout the interior of the light. The most the LE ever had was just the threads of the head coated.

Hope this helps...
