ARC AAA : weakest point is ...

this foam spacer between head and the battery (->my opinion).

will this thing last 10 years ?
what happens if it gets apart of the head in the field ?

will the arc aaa also run without it ?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If it fails (as mine did) ARC will graciously send you a new one if you just send them a SASE with a description of what you need.

To answer your second question, the ARC will run just fine without it. Its only real purpose is to eliminate battery rattle. If the tiny rattle doesn't bother you, you really don't need it. I haven't replaced mine yet and my ARC is running great.
