Arc Cyan LS1 green beam????

I just ordered a Cyan LS1 hoping to have a blue green light, when much to my disappointment is has a pure green light. I am not sure if it is supposed to be this green, although it is a very bright green light. If anyone has any answers or info????

I have a SLS cyan that is yellow green. I also have a LS HD cyan that is slightly blue green, but more green. The luxeon 5W cyan side emitters that I got were again green with a hint of blue tint. The 5W luxeon HD emitters I got were a very interesting light Aqua/ torquoise.

I think it's all part of the luxeon CCS (Color Crap Shoot) :-(

I have two cyan SLS, both are the green with perhaps a touch of blue. But they are so bright - I like them alot. Great for hiking. What does Kermit the Frog say, Its tough to be green?(EDIT he says "It isn't easy to be green") But I like green in my cyan LS, not in my white LS's !

I just ordered an Arc LS1 Cyan First, primarily for the warranty.

My cyan LS1 is also quite green. As green as green Infinity. Still a great light though.

Can't decide which I like better between it and my blue LS1. Excuse to carry them both and together they make a very good cyan!

I have a Cyan HD SLS and it is a green with a touch of blue, but not green green. Tint is similar to my ARC AAA Turquoise EV. Sometimes it looks bluer than other times. Quite a nice tint. New traffic lights use the turquoise Nichia LED which although green is noticeably bluer (and brighter!)than regular incandescent green traffic lights.

My Cyan SLS is very green, not sure if there's much blue in there at all... But my SLS white has a good white beam... I guess in my case it's 50/50. I can live with the Cyan aka Green.

Aha! Finally got me a Cyan first. Sure is green, but sure is purty! I really like the Royal Blue, though it's not quite as bright.

Here's something to remember; I used my Cyan LS1 which has a almost green light, to go night fishing and realized that it doesn't attract insects which is a good thing since I go fishing and camping a lot...

I just got my 'Cyan' Arc LS "First" today. Pure green.

Multi-lobed center spot with 4 leaf clover pattern in the center. Is this standard for the Cyan Arc LS??

Very bright. Using identical Lithium AAs in 2AA configuration for beam comparison with my white SLS, the cyan is brighter. Bet it would be brighter still, if it had a smooth beam pattern. I couldn't compare in 1AA mode, as it did not come with my favorite pack.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Both of mine have the clover leaf pattern - but for what I do it's OK. And it's so bright! I now have a 5W cyan in one of elektrolumens's 5D cell specials. That cyan is more blue and also has a very interesting pattern. And its Ultra Bright. But it's too bad you didn't get the 1AA pack - thats plenty bright for everyday use.

Thanks for the information Mr. Gransee, virgo, and Dark Star. I was wondering and now I know.

I hope that the 1AA packs will still be available in a week or so.

At least I only need to take one look at the heads to figure out which is which. The differences are obvious to me.

If the LS2s are waterproof, I will likely buy one for headlamp duty. They don't have to be dive rated.

Now I feel alot better about my Cyan LS.

Pretty much all colored LEDs have much more "character" in their beams than white does. White is smoother because the phosphor used to make white also smoothes the beam.

I've got a couple of colored LSs, and have noticed the 4-lobed center spot. I think it's common in the colored 1W Luxeons. Hold the light very close (maybe around an inch) from a light colored surface, and you should see that the emitter appears to have 4 parallel light bands. Pretty cool. I've never been able to see it on the whites, I guess because of the reason Peter mentioned above.
