i would like to purchase a arc aaa, but want to get the best one possible. at: arc LE there is one available. I understand that there are many different makes on the arc aaa. is the the best one i will be able to purchase?
Well, first of all understand that the Standard is now the same thing only in black and cheaper. Second of all...yes. There are many versoins of the Arc AAA but they're more like generations of it, this is the most current, and therefore the best, version.
so the standard is the EXACT same thin only black and cheaper? does it have the type III finish and everything? if so, then the only difference other than the color and the price is the engraving right?
Hmmmmm...there are so many different versions of Standard vs. LE floating around, I thought the standard had type III...
LE LE LE, I meant to type LE! But I mean when 1 letter means the difference between 2 products, like Saturns...would you like a SC1 or a SW1...ok sorry...
From what I understand, the LE is the only one with the Type III hard finish. I thought that it had a little bit brighter L.E.D. than the standard version as well, but I could be wrong about that.

The difference between the LE and the standard *TODAY*:
LE has SB1 LED, the standard has SB2. Same brightness, slightly different tint.
LE is natural HA III, standard is black HA III
LE has "Limited Edition" written on it, the standard does not.
Those are the differences. An LE is natural colored with a slightly greener LED with "Limited Edition" written on it. Everything else is pretty much equal. They are equally durable and equally bright.
When the LE first came out, it was the first with the S rank bulb. The standard, at the time, had an R-ranked bulb. Also, when the LE first came out, the standard was type II anodize.
Today, they are the same animal with the differences noted above. Same brightness LED, same durable finish. At one point the standard was better than the LE because the standard was improved with Chemcote after the LE was out of production for a while.
