Mr. Gransee:

I am eager to learn more about the process for ARC LS beta holders to trade in their lights for the 1.0 model. Given your recent comments about factory firsts and seconds, it gives me concern that beta holders will not be able to trade their light in for some time. I was hopping that beta holders would get first priority since we did take the leap of faith and bought at the early stages of the light's design.

When will the ordering open for factory seconds?

Thanks.

The warranty replacement process works as before. The difference with the LS is that it may take several months until we have a good enough quality unit to replace your return with.

We will process your return asap though. And if we have a choice between shipping a return and shipping a new order, the return will ship first.

Patience my padawin friend. There are still some of us waiting for our original order.

Peter...

Thank you you again for this offer.

If you are willing, please keep this offer open ended time-wise. That way those of us who were lucky enough to get the beta units can later compare them with the new units when they become available, and only then decide if we want to return the beta`s.

I plan on keeping my two beta units, for instance, unless the difference is really significant.

This approach would also help others get their first LS units more quickly. The beta holders could more patiently bide their time until production starts to better catch up with demand.

Finally, if we do have to send in the beta units right away, then I`ll definitely just keep them. The beta`s (with the 123 power pack) are so great and such a key part of my EDC that, as they say, "I wouldn`t leave home without one."

Take care.

Yes, we definatately will stretch out the return period on these. You do not need to worry about holding on to the beta you have right now for awhile and then returning it (assuming it is defective) at a later time.

How long? 1 year.

Peter

Peter...

I recognize that you need a time limit.

One year (from April 1, 2002...April fool`s day) would be great.

Thanks again.
