Arch LS \"Clicker\" Problem...

I know that the clicker is guaranteed, but mine will click, but not stay lit! Is there an adjustment that I need to make?
Thanks, Dan

Re: Arch LS

Hello Lureman and welcome to the CPF. Congratulations on your purchase of the Arc-LS!

What you are describing sounds like a bound side spring on the kroll switch. Have you removed the tail switch?

Remove the battery pack from the head and the switch from the battery pack. Click the switch off and reinstall everything. The switch must be off when it is installed otherwise the side spring will bind.

Let me know how this works for you.

Re: Arch LS

Thanks Peter for the help...it did work...but.... Now the light is sorta "trembly!" What I mean is I can lay it still on a table and the light beam trembles, like it is flickering. Any ideas? Does it do this when the battery is about to run out?
Thanks again, Dan

Re: Arch LS

It will flicker when the battery is about to run out and the light is falling out of regulation. Usually, a battery lasts about 2 hours.

You should probably check your light with a fresh battery. If it still flickers, the switch is probably defective. If it doesn't, you should be all set.

Good luck,
Pat

Re: Arch LS

If you still suspect the switch (I would), then turn the light on and loosen/tighten the tail switch (not the power pack) about a 1/4 turn. If that affects the light output then you may have dirty contact with that same side spring. Sometimes wiping the threads and spring clean helps.

Re: Arch LS

Hey I don't want to distract the thread but I want to thank Peter G. for the information that the switch can be unscrewed. I thought it was pressed in from the inside and I'd need a whole new tail when (not if but "when") my 2.8 yr-old chewed through the rubber cover. He already made it 1/2 way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
