Which one is the one to use?

Arctic Silver is conductive and also availalbe as adhesive epoxy but other than that I am lost in which one should be used for heatsinks and luxeons. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hi K-T,

Artic Silver is slightly conductive; it can be used with white, blue or green type Luxeons. It seems it only poses a problem when used with red, amber or red/orange Luxeons. I use it to mount all the white emitters I put into lights.

Artic Alumina is cheaper and works just about as well. I would venture that only under very serious high power applications would Artic Silver actually make a difference.

Ceramic stuff I have never used, as I've found the Artic Silver or Alumina epoxy to work just fine with Luxeons.

Thanks for the quick answer, Lambda. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
