Are magnetic spacers safe?

I have a custom light and the battery tube is a bit too long for the tailcap to make contact with the battery. Is it safe to use a few magnetic spacers to fill this gap? Could the magnets disrupt the led or batteries in any way?

If so, are there alternatives?

thanks!

There are safer spacer options than magnets, since these could move around and short-circuit (especially risky if using more than one!)....

There are a few members on CPF who can fabricate custom spacers with a (conductive) metal post surrounded by an (insulating) plastic rim.

I've made spacers out of 3/8 fuel line hose for cars. Cut the length of hose you need then cut a piece of 3/8 bolt and insert it into the center of the hose.

If you want something as long as 15mm, there are predone spacers safe to use inside of flashlights.
