Hello, how is the quality of this light and can it take 18650 batteries? DX sku# 20759. On *bay a seller has them listed saying they can take 18650 batteries but DX only list it as using 2x CR123s, says input voltage can be 3.6v-9v. thanks

Quality??? From a DX light? It's iffy at best, sometimes you'll get a good one, sometimes not (more often not).

As for 18650 cells, it may be able to fit depending on the internal diameter of the battery tube, DX is famous for putting max lumen numbers which you'd probably only get if you used 2xRCR123s and not a 18650.

Conclusion:

Quality? Hit and miss.
Fitting 18650, no clue but it may fit but if it does, the output may not be as bright if using 2xRCR123s instead.

It's a single mode light, and possibly direct driven. For that price, i'd head over to shiningbeam and see what they have instead.

Have you ever purchased an Aurora? I know the quality from DX can be hit or miss, but I have never gotten a poor quality Aurora. They've always seemed to be very sturdy budget lights to me. Sure there might be a bad one here and there due to poor quality control, but there is a much much higher chance of getting a good one.

Thanks for the feedback on never getting a bad Aurora. I just really like the look of that light.

I received My Aurora x-06 today and I can tell you without a doubt that the 18650 will NOT fit. The diameter of the battery is too large. Other than that it's seem to be a solid light but I can tell the clicky isn't the best. It's not a nice and confirmed solid on/off. I'll press it and hear the click but it won't come on so I have to press it again.
