I purchased one of the kits about 2 weeks ago after they came back in stock. I've been using it all last week and couldn't figure out why it was outthrown by the DX cree module in a Maxfire. Just today I noticed the metal reflector has an OP finish. I checked at flashlightreviews.com the reflector on Dougs is smooth. Who else has a third run kit and has an OP reflector? I like the smooth beam, but it really kills throw, which was why I bought the kit in the first place.

Hey David! I don't know, but would any of The Sandwich Shoppe drop-in McRs work with the Auroralite? Possibly there may/might be a smooth one available? :thinking:

might be an idiotic question but were you using 2x AA/14500 li ions? or just normal AA batts?
