Peter:

You had previously indicated that you were going to offer up for sale the LS3s that were built but subsequently halted production. When do you think they will be for sale, how mamy will you have to sell, what will be the process to order (assuming greater demand than supply), and what will be the price?

Can I preorder a LS3?

We will be making a small, one-time production of LS3s and they will probally be ready the last week of this month.

In an effort to be fair, we will not be taking advance orders of these. I will announce ahead of time that we will be taking orders at a certain time. Just like we did with the LS Premiums.

LS3 Specs:
$200
5 watt white LS emitter driven at 2.5 watts
Rev2 housing
TSP-2x123 pack

Depending on final yields, about 50-55 units will be made. After that, we have no plans to make any more.

Peter,

do you have the 5Watters on hand ? Latest rumour was that shipment of even the 500/1000 hours "portable" units was again delayed to March (of whatever year

And I still think the LS3 design w 2x123 pack would be worth consideration of continued production - but I´ll see what April will bring us

Peter,
I'm assuming LS3 has better (brighter) output than others because of its power consumption, but I've read some posts here saying that current LS2 might outperform LS3. is there any LS2s that actually throw brighter beam than the limited LS3s? Thanks.

240z, the 1w HD will throw a further beam than the 5W HD. The 5W HD at 2.5watts produces more photons (lumenosity) than the 1W HD however.

Ron, no. Sorry, we only have enough to equip the LS3s.

Peter,
Thanks for the info. I also found old posts with pics of LS3 and beams. Looks pretty good. I've owned and used surefire (6p) for my work for the past ?years, but its beam is too focused for the purpose and eats batteries too fast. LS3 looks perfect for my purpose. oh well, only if I can get one of 50...

Keep us posted in regards to ordering info, etc. once it's ready. Thanks.

So Peter,

Is there something else in the works, or, as we say in Texas, "Fixin't be" in the works, that will compete (or excede) the light output of the LS3?

We don't need details (unless you want to!)! A simple Yes or No is an ok answer!

No and Yes.

Not trying to be difficult, that really is the order they come in. We might announce something later this year (6-8 months?) that is not as bright (the "no" answer) but has other advantages. Next year, we might see the "yes" part of the answer.

Basically, it will be awhile before we make a light as bright as the LS3 again.

Peter.

I didn't want this thread to get lost as I am trying to keep tabs on the announcement of the LS3 sale. Since I am first in line for the LS3

, I want to make sure that I don't miss your announcement when I am on my travels. Any better estimates of when the LS3 will go on sale?

They should be in final manufacturing this week. We might have them ready for shipping by next week (cross fingers)!

Stay tuned...
