I have a WE Sniper with a CREE/HO. I've only had it about a week and a half. I like it so much that I've taken my 2 - UltraStingers out of my squad. Now all I have is the Sniper and my Boxer 24W. I'm out on a side street talking to a guy, using the Sniper. (This is back in the wilderness of the county... No street lights) All is well. I get back in my squad, keeping the Sniper in my hand, to check out another vehicle down the road. I get out of my squad, try the Sniper and NOTHING :scowl:. I know the battery is charged. I try another battery. I try taking off the tail cap and shorting the neg. to the body with a key. NOTHING. I take it apart. checking everything I can. NOTHING. NOW WHAT DO I DO? Well. Imagine the surprise of the person I walk up to, on a traffic stop, and I'm using a Boxer 24W! I get home later and check the battery. It's good. I have a charged 18650 with the casing exposed by the top of the battery. I use the light, without the tube, and connect the spring to the pos, and the side to the neg - NOTHING. I can't believe I have a bad LED light. The whole reason I went with LEDs was so I didn't have a bulb failure on the road.
If anyone has any ideas I can try before calling PTS and getting a new one, please let me know. I really do want to stay with the LEDs, and WE seams like a good brand.
Well... Back on patrol.

LEDs will certainly lower the likelihood of sudden failure, but like you have experienced, even a well built light has a chance of failure... Judging by your sig line, looks like you have quite a few options available. Looks like that Tiablo will be in your hands soon, I'd recommend having the tiablo and a SF or 2 on standby. If the WE is truly bust, Mike will probably do ya right.

most of the time, it's a contact problem, whether it be in the switch itself, or pieces mating, or cells meeting springs etc etc... (applies to any brand in any price bracket)... But sometimes that contact issue is in a non-serviceable component, or something more users would not consider serviceable.

HAHA routine traffic stop with 1600 lumens "sir, im going to just shine my light here in your eyes to see if you've been drinking...just put on this welding mask first."

Needless to say, I had to be very careful NOT to hit him directly. I had the light on as much "spot" as I could and just used the side spill to illuminate the inside of the vehicle. It was either that or use the LED light on my Taser. Most people get a little nervous when that little red laser is shining around. My partner offered me $20 to use the 10 million candle power spotlight, I carry in the trunk, on a stop. I want people to be able to drive away when I'm finished with them... not have to wait an hour to get their night vision back.
