I want to use a BB800(actually 833), TWAK emmitter, on one 123 cell in a McLux. Will my runtimes be short and not worth it? If yes, any suggestions on how much current I should run for the Lux3? I want as much blinding light I can get off one 123 with about 1+ hour runtime if possible. Sorry I'm not very good with math. Appreciate any help.

To get right at 1 hour before dimming, I would suggest no higher than a BB400. IMHO, running a BB800 on one 123 cell is not a very practical light.

The BB500 with 1x123 and a TWAK is a pretty nice combo, IMO. It is brighter than a MM+ R2H with 2xAA. 400 would be almost as bright and have significantly more runtime, though. I think the sweetspot for runtime/brightness is 400ma (with a badboy) on 1x123 and 700ma (with a downboy) on 2x123.

Thanx Doug for you recommendations. I always trust your calculations/judgments....haha I was in fantasy land I guess.

Tyler, have you done a runtime test on that BB500, TWAK, 1x123 yet? Or any estimated runtime figures?

thanx
