Lol, I was at Epcot in Disney World and after the fireworks at the end of the night they fire a laser at the ball of "spaceship earth". I was walking past were the laser fired from and heard pssst, ziit, psst and looking around I saw sparks in the air. Poor little flying critters were being vaporized for thousands of feet.
I`m not really qualified to answer your question about the beast light but the fish sounds nice

I'd suggest the SureFire E2.

I'm getting mine from Tim Flanagan.

As I've already got a SureFire G2, I'm all excited about the E2.

I'm not sure if there's much difference in price between the E2 and G2, but I go for a SureFire over any other flashlight.

Well if someone was offering, I'd take a free PlasmaBeam... [now I'm dreaming!

E2

Small size, great construction, bright/white/flawless beam, and most importantly - really neat.

I'll second Tim Flanagan; I got my E2 from him and the service was great.

Gentlemen
I need advice on my first "cooler than Mag-light" flashlight. If all you experts had to choose, which flashlight gives you the most bang for the buck. Okay I'm talking GEEWHIZ that's cool looking, I'm talking if a bug flies in its path it fries instantly, I WANT IT ALL.... So is it an E1? E2? scorpion? one of those ever-ready lights that looks like a fish?<g> Also a good dealer for that light would be nice too and HEY, if you got a buck or two to spare.....OK I'm pushing it.....

THANKS FOR YOUR INSIGHT

I guess we have all turned into E2aholics

I have a G2 and compared it to the E2. I know it has it's place but now with the E2 out I am wondering...Why? But then I have gobbs of flashlights and the real reason is I needed it

If cost is not reason to worry the E2 wins hands down. Now, I need to put in a plug for dreaming about an E3

Stop it! You just made me drool all over my keyboard

Until I get my E2-HA, I have to support the G2 by explaining that it's lower cost doesn't mean it's any less tough.

After throwing it about abit, I am very please to report that it has protected the lamp, and taken a beating.

I don't consider it to be like the new M2, or the E2 when I get it. The G2 will not be a constant carry flashlight like the E1 is, and the E2 hopefully will be. Nor will it be on my belt almost all the time like the new M2. I plan to have G2s around for general use, in the cars, shed, toolbox, under-the-sink etc. Quality light whereever, whenever it's required...

I like my E2 better then any of my other lights. It's well worth the money. Solid construction and nice bright round light.

Thanks Everyone for all the great information and for also turning me on to Tim. Looks like there will be an E2 in my life soon....

Can't wait, and thats only one of my problems.

Great choice K-Horn, both of light and dealer

.

For anyone looking to purchase their first SureFire, the E2 is a great way to go. Rest assured, once you have one, you will need more

Yeah I thought about that myself. So when Tim came back to me with a deal on 2, I jumped on the chance.
You really should have one for each hand.

Al, I can't agree more. May be a new E2-Nitrolon. This will even cut a little weight further.

Then I will have E2-HA with NM03, GM with NM02 and Nitrolon with LED

Well I got my 2 E2HA's yesterday.

My first impression was, NOTHING anybody has stated has done justice to this light. Until you have it in your hand you really can't appreciate it.
All I can say is THANKS TIM for the great service and WOW what a flashlight!!!
Boy I'm glad they came in yesterday, my wife is out of town and that gives me 2 weeks to justify spending what I did on a flashlight. I could give her the extra one......only if they pry it from my dead fingers

I'll get her a trout light.

I can't wait until my order from Tim arrives!

By the way, just so there's no confusion; the Lamp Modules are not NM, but MN

What do you lot think about the Black E1 and E2?
Personally, I can't wait to get a Black E1.
