Bare Aluminum Aleph?

Don i can't remember if i actually sent you a PM on the subject or if i just daydreamt it. lol its fun working the night shift.

I couldnt find anything in the Shoppe. But are the Aleph components available in Bare or EN plated aluminum? All i could find was HA Natural and Black. Dont like Natural, Black is OK but i really like the silver aluminum look.

Stripping the HA is really easy. I use Red Devil drain cleaner, which is just lye. Two teaspoons in a cup of water and about a 30 second bath. Repeat if necessary.

Just make sure that you scrub with a tooth brush or something between baths, just to make sure that you actually need to dunk it again.

I get around to PM's every once in a while. If you want some Raw Al parts, send me an E-mail. I do have a few left. They are the same price but as to less work, setting up the lathe to face the battery tube, one at a time, is more than enough to offset the price of anodizing! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The easiest solution for me is to NOT offer raw Al parts, at least in theory! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nana.gif

Ahh, aleph 2 and 1 with the 1x123 tubes. you dont happen to have a side by side with an Arc LS do you? for size comparison. I REALLY like the aleph 1 and 3 heads. would like the 2 better if it wasn't knurled.

Hallis: That Aleph 2/1x123 tube combo's about the size of a Quantum III, if you've seen that. In other words, 3.5" tall or so, or just a bit over. It'll easily get lost in your hand, unless you've got really SMALL hands. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you want an even shorter light, you could get one of the VitalGear FB1 (clicky) or FB-1a (twisty, even shorter) bodies but you'd lose the 2-level though. Photo by arewethereyetdad shows the VG FB1a body next to the Aleph 1x123 body.

Where can I get the Vital gear with twisty? What colors are available?

I think the Vital Gear twisty body is no longer in production. They have been taken over by the new Vital Gear with clickies. You might be able to get some from fellow members who are looking to sell theirs, but I doubt you can get them off the shelf or from VG. As far as I know, the VG twisties came in HA nat.
