I´ve encountered a couple of brands of LSD NiMH batteries that I haven´t seen mentioned on the forum before and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with either or both of them. The first brand is called "PowerBase" and can be had in AA and AAA sizes and with a series of chargers that that have charging times from 1 hour to 19 hours. The other brand "GP Powerbank" can be had in sizes AAA to D and 9volt PP3 in a variety of mAh configurations (for example the AA size can be had in both 2100 and 2700 mAh configurations) and a series of chargers that have charging speeds from 15 minutes to 14 hours. If anyone knows the origin of the brands (rewrapped Sanyo, Duracell or other?) or if they are their own brands, I would like to know. If anyone has any practical experience of these brands (run times, size measurements in comparison to other brands), please post info as these brands are available in a shop close to where I live (no post order necessary!).

I've never heard of Powerbase, but GP I do know.

However, the Powerbank range is not their LSD batteries, it's their range of chargers.

I have one, the H650C, works well, nice charger.
4 independent channels, 2amp charge AA / 1amp AAA, seems to both charge and terminate well.

GP's LSD battery range are Recyko, unless they're naming them differently in different regions.

The PowerBase LSD batteries are sold under the name "PowerBase instant". AA holds 2100mAh, AAA, 800 mAh. They also have a non LSD series running from AAA to D + 9v.

I looked at the Powerbase website.

If the instant cells are rebranded from another manufacturer, the big question will be are they Eneloops or "the others"?

Only a closer look and some testing can fully answer that though.

I'm interested now. I've put a lot of time and money recently into LSD nimh, yet never came across Powerbase. I might see if I can find a pack and have a look.

Look at: www.kjell.com , page 202, 203 in their Spring-Summer catalogue (pdf file, 97mb), (in Swedish and prices are in SEK). In the middle-top of the home page klick on "ny katalog (pdf symbol)" and download. If you need help, I´m there for you.

Tack Anders,
From what I can make out of all the various LSD threads that we have two factorys making LSD NiMH batteries: Sanyo and Yuasa-Delta (unless someone else has started up in the last few months) which means that all the non Sanyo rewraped brands should show pretty much the same test results (unless I am missing something important here). What I´d like to see now is a list of which brands are made at which factory.
