Batteries for cheap car flashlight?

I need to buy batteries for my AA and AAA car flashlights. On summer they will get very hot... like 50Celcius or even more.

Energizer lithium are usd3,5 each in my country and only available on AA.

Will alkaline be fine? will they leak? what about nimh?

I'd go lithium... If the are cost prohibitive in your locale, perhaps online purchasing would work?

In those temperatures, using alkaline is definately asking for trouble. If you have to use alkaline, store them seperately in a plastic bag.

A few AA and AAA eneloops (nimh) plus a car charger would serve you well.
