Are all of the different versions of Inova T4 using an 18650 battery?

im afraid these are not "an 18650 battery".

Dont they used special cells, with both contacts on one side?
(like SF B90 battery)

PS: seems that proprietary battery is so much thicker, than one could build oneself an suiting cell ...
(like in the threads I explained how to build a B90 battery stick)

it's an 18650, but housed in a plastic tbe in order to put both terminals on the same side of the cell. it's identical to the battery used in the Streamlight Strion.

mine (an early single level T4) has a contact at each end, the positive end is a tiny contact, recessed behind a plastic ring
an ordinary 18650 works in its place (i have NOT tried charging it in the light though)

Positive contact (towards tail of light)

Negative contact (faces head of light

That's an "A" version of the T4, and the only one to use that type of cell.
as i said, its an early single level one.
I don't use it much, and the lens is cracked - but it still works reliably (i have a light diffuser sheet under the front lens, makes it a bit floodier without affecting throw too badly

thinking of mounting the charger in the car…...
