Some of us have a flashlight cleaning day, where we do maintenance on all our lights. I thought I should take it a step further and have a battery discharge / recharge day. After all, someone with a decent collection is not likely to use all his lights quick enough to cycle all the (rechargeable)batteries before they're at least a little depleted through self-discharge.
Quite simply, I do what a lot of flashaholics do: I line up my less used flashlights, turn off the lights and let them run one by one or two at a time until it's time to recharge the batteries. I figure this should be done about every three months, about the same time as cleaning day. Then I have a battery charging day that turns out to be more of a battery charging week :ironic:. At least now I know for sure they're all ready to go and the batteries have been tested to last a decent amount of time :twothumbs
The whole idea behind this is that unused batteries loose potential faster over time than regularily used batteries.
Anyone else do something like this, or you just cycle your lights everytime the batteries need charging on your currently used light?
