Hi,

I recently purchused a 6P and I used it for around 5 mins in total (keeping in mind that I am using the standard equipment P60 and the sf123's) then they died.
I left them overnight and no I didnt leave it on and when I picked it up for work it was dead.
Any ideas? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif

There are many threads about SF's 123's dying prematurely.

You should get near an hour of light, with diminishing brightness during that time.

if its not a defective P60 then its the batteries. try using non-surefire CR123a batteries to see if it helps.

penthrox, did your 6P come in a sealed box? If it wasn't sealed then it's possible someone was playing around with it before you got it thus depleting the batteries.

The normal discharge curve of lithium 123 cells is very flat and should give you approx 60 minutes of good solid light with a very noticable drop off at the end. When you get to this sharp drop you have about 5 minutes of dim light left at this point. That's been my experience.

Contrast that to regular alkalines which have a sharp drop within the first 30 minutes and then a long slow drop after that.

You may have bad 123's

All SF's are coming in a film sealed box, but the batteries, if you check them with a m.meter just opening the box are at 2.9 - 3.0V...
