With the growing collection of lights comes the growing collection of batteries. I currently have about 20 each of AAAA, AAA, AA, 123, 9v, C and D. I know not large by many's standards but they're getting a little out of control. They are in small ziplock bags according to size then all in a large ziplock. There must be a better way! Also, how do you keep track of which 123s are fresh and which are used to the point of "LED only"? Is there such a thing as a reliable tester for 123s?

Thanks-
Steve

I note that my DVM shows 123's to have about 3.28 V with no load when fresh and around 2.80 V at the LED only stage.

Invest in a digital multimeter - they'll tell you exactly what voltage the batteries are, and costs probably only around $US5-10 for a cheapo one.

I'm not familair with the term "Ziplock", (must be a USA thing) however I would caution against having them in an airtight bag - if that's not the case, you got nothing to worry about.

Just put them under a small pyramid along with your razor blades. Keeps batteries full and blades sharp....

Ziploc is a brand of plastic bags. Very useful for many things. The name describes the closure mechanism. Original size was sandwich bags.
